“There are no Rhett Butlers and Darcys in real life. Only Heathcliffs.”

An avant-garde romance that goes beyond sexual chemistry and digs deep into human nature and relationships.

Elizabeth Goodenough met Saber Fergus for the first time when she was eight and he was twelve. He broke her heart when she was eighteen. Ten years later, an unwitting mistake on Izzy’s part once again brings her face to face with the same one-night stand that once brutally crushed her.

But something seems different this time. Has her dark knight really transformed into a knight in shining armor, or is he playing her all over again?

Please welcome to my blog for this week – Author Vivienne Vincent. Tell us a little about yourself Vivienne.

  1. What genre do you write or do you write more than one?

I have experimented with different genres in the past but I would like to stick to contemporary romance.

  1. Why did you choose this genre?

I have always loved fairy tales and romance novels are fairy tales for grownups.

  1. What is your latest book?

I have only recently published my first book; Dandelions. I call it a product of four years of unemployment. I guess every cloud has a silver lining.

  1. When will it release?

It was released on July 15, 2016.

  1. Who is your target audience?

Mainly women in their twenties and thirties. When I wrote Dandelions I had my sister in mind. I don’t mean that the story has anything to do with her. But she has a full-time job, two kids, and a pretty crazy life. When she feels too depressed she reads romance. Of course she doesn’t have much time so that’s one of the factors that motivated my novella. I just wanted to write something that women can enjoy. Just a little book that takes two hours and helps you unwind. Also, girls in their teenage years can read it. It talks about heartbreak and the experience of losing virginity in a realistic way. It’s not always a pleasant experience. I don’t like to idealize sex and the sexual content of this book was always conceived while I was on the verge. I believe that gives Dandelions a more realistic approach.

  1. What do you hope they learn from/like about your work?

That would be highly subjective, I think. I don’t like being didactic. All I wanted to do was to write something that women can have fun reading. Maybe get away from the stress of real life for a while. Literature to me is simply a form of entertainment.

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

There isn’t much to tell. I grew up in a fairly conservative environment. I think that made me all the more curious about subjects that are not discussed very openly. Female sexuality is one. I think it’s very important to talk about it so that one of the most important yet least understood aspects of our lives can become a tangible reality instead of an abstract ideal.

  1. Do you belong to a writing circle/group?

I am part of Solstice Publishing Authors Group and that’s pretty much it.

  1. Do you have any new stories on the go?

Before I write a story I need to live it inside my own head for a while which is exhausting so I have been procrastinating. But for my next project I want to work on a pretty cliché “friends to lovers” plot. To be honest, I don’t mind clichés because I think that all stories have been told. What’s important is how they are told.

Thanks for sharing, Vivienne. I wish you much success in your writing.
