Meet Thriller/Humour Author JEAN GUY JACQUES

You might fall prey to an insidious blackmail scam, but can you ever bail yourself out of the mess?

Senator Harry Day lies to his wife telling her that he has business to attend and blows off an important family reunion dinner.

Instead he attends his best friend’s bachelor party at the Wild Irish Rose Pub.

The party gets out of hand when Patricia, a stunning lady accidently trips and spills her red wine on Harry shirt.

Harry is fuming. She offers to take him to her home and clean his shirt. After throwing his shirt in the washing machine Patricia begins to seduce him, dragging him to her bedroom and setting him up for one of the most insidious scam ever conceived.

Will he be able to save his reputation?

This week’s blog showcases the work of Jean Guy, Jacques. Welcome, Jean Guy.

Thanks for having me Maighread.

Let’s get started.

  1. What genre do you write or do you write more than one?

I write thrillers and I love to put a lotta humor in them. I’m a Monty Python type of guy.

One of the 5 star reviews says that my book ‘The Baby Factory’ is a cross between

Charles Bukowski, George Orwell, Quentin Tarantino and The Comedy Store.

Another 5 star review mentioned that my book ‘could become a cult classic’.

  1. Why did you choose this genre?

I love intrigue. I want to arouse the reader’s curiosity with unusual ideas.

  1. What is your latest book?

I just finished my second book ‘Bad Day for Harry Day’. A story about Harry Day, an American Senator being blackmailed by a film editor whose life is threatened by a drug Lord.

  1. When will it release release?

Like my first book, it will be released by Summer Solstice on September 30th.

  1. Who is your target audience?

People with money so they have no problems buying my books… just kidding.

  1. What do you hope they learn from/like about your work?

Writing keeps my brain in motion. I will never retire.

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself

First let me say that I was put on this planet to make people laugh. When people ask me where I come from, I always tell them that I come from my mother, and that she happened to be in Quebec City at the time, I always get a fun reaction from that. 1960, I spent 35 years in Hollywood working as an animation director for the most progressive commercial studio in the US at the time, John Urie & Associates. We were famous for the Hawaiian Punch Commercial, which I proudly directed. I also had the opportunity to work as a special effect director, film editor, set designer, costumers, photographer, actor, wrote produced directed and acted in many award winning short subjects. What a life that was. We are presently living in Shanghai, my wife is doing some interior design here. I’m 86 years young and writing my butt off. My motto… never give up the ship… sell it.

  1. Do you have any new stories on the go?

I wrote four Bible parodies, Monty Python style, of course. ‘Stanley Forcefinger’ illustrated by the famous cartoonist Kliban. A story of a kid that discover that he can blow things up with his finger. ‘Blacky A Cat From Nun’s Island’. A story of my departed cat that traveled from Montreal, all over Europe and ended up here in Shanghai. I am presently rewriting my screenplay ‘The Baby Factory’, my agent will submit it to the major studios. Started writing my autobiography ‘My Thirty Five Phoquing Years In Hollywood’ Lotta juicy stuff to tell about the famous people I met and used in commercials. The nice ones and the not so nice ones.
